Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center (MAISRC)
Meet Kristin Loobeek, Communications Specialist
We are happy to announce that Kristin Loobeek will be joining MAISRC as our new Communications Specialist.
Kristin comes to MAISRC after serving the State of Minnesota for five and a half years at both the Department of Transportation and Department of Natural Resources. She received a B.A. in Communications Studies from Concordia University in St. Paul, with an emphasis in environmental science and writing. Kristin is also a certified wildland firefighter and drone pilot. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active with friends, camping, spending time at the family cabin, and searching for the Twin Cities' best eggs Benedict.
As our Communications Specialist, her primary role will be to communicate research progress and accomplishments to MAISRC’s varied audiences and continue to develop MAISRC’s reach. She will be responsible for creating written and visual content, managing our primary communications platforms (website, social media, email newsletter), facilitating opportunities to connect with media, and coordinating special events like the Research & Management Showcase.
Kristin joins us in the office on March 5, 2020. Welcome, Kristin!
