Urge Gov. Dayton to fund AIS research
Dear MAISRC supporters,
Thank you for your continued support of MAISRC, our research, and the need for stable funding. We know that you value Minnesota's lakes and rivers, as well as our efforts to find science-based solutions to aquatic invasive species issues. Now's the time to speak up.
The details of the Omnibus Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance bill are now being negotiated between Gov. Dayton and legislative leadership. Please let Gov. Dayton know that stable funding for the Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center should be included in the final bill. He needs to hear from you!
We hope you can personalize your message, but use these key talking points to get started:
- Aquatic invasive species are threatening fisheries, recreation, and lake-based economies in Minnesota. You don't want your outdoor experience diminished by AIS.
- The Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center is developing science-based solutions to reduce the impacts of AIS in Minnesota and needs stable funding to continue.
- The most effective and efficient way to support AIS research in the state is by providing stable funding directly to MAISRC, in a way most closely proposed in the HF888 Conference Committee report.
Urge Gov. Dayton to support AIS research by calling him at 651-201-3400 or sending him a message.
Thank you for all you do to help protect the state from the impacts of AIS!
